Its rainy here today, its been raining on and off for the past couple of weeks – its cold! But don’t get me wrong, I love rainy days! They offer a unique cleansing feeling, often unnoticed, and provide sustenance for plants we didn’t even realise we’re suffering. However sometimes rainy days can just just feel a little blah…
So today I thought I’d share with you my favourite rainy day activities! (When you don’t have to be at work or school!)
Say hey to the rain: Go outside. Why not? Put on your favourite gumboots, a raincoat and venture into the wild, (well your backyard!) I remember being little and rain was just the coolest thing ever. I LOVED storms. Go splash in the puddles, dance under the clouds and make the most of it!
Binge-watch movies: There is nothing better than sitting in your lounge room, all rugged up next to the fire and watching your favourite movies or TV-shows. (Except when the rain is so loud you can’t hear anything!) Time to break out the Netflix and just be a zombie for a day…
Go out: I don’t know about you but I love the atmosphere that rain creates, especially in town or in the city. Its so fun! Everyone is rushing around, trying to stay dry and keep warm. I love sitting in cafes and soaking up this ‘mood’. So go to your favourite cafe, get your caffeine hit and just chillllll
Stay in: Want the caffeine but not the water? Stay indoors! You have an excuse, why not? Make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate or coffee or latte or tea…
Read a book: I feel like not many people these days give reading enough credit! Reading is a great way to unwind, whilst unconsciously educating yourself. Depending on what you decide to read, you can either escape to a different world or immerse yourself in your own world! All I’m picturing as I’m writing this is someone sitting against a window, book in hand, staring outside and watching the rain drizzle down the glass. Its picturesque really!
So remember this post next time you experience boredom on a rainy day, and thank me for it later! Let me know what your favourite rainy day activities are and like this post if you love rain also!
